although i may not live in nashville anymore, i'm still aware of the battle to save tenncare. i know many, many people whose lives hang in the balance because of it. today, 857 miles away, the reality of tenncare is right on my lap. my long lost friend, bernie, wrote the cover story for this week's nashville scene.
please read.

Posted by bananie at May 9, 2005 3:46 PM | TrackBackwow, that has to be one of the most well-written articles i've ever read about what it's like to live with mental illness. i can imagine how hard it was for bernie to write it. i have bipolar disorder. don't know if i ever told you that, annie. i feel so fortunate, when i hear or read stories like bernie's. i only have to take one pill a day most of the time, two in winter, to stay "in my right mind". chemical balance is a beautiful thing. i can echo so much of her story. and i detest the stigma, too. give bernie a *hug* for me, would ya? even if it's an e-hug =) she's a brave woman.
