From the lobby card:
"Waiting For Squirrels" is a dark, sadistic look at the violent nature lurking deep within the back yard of our souls. The protagonist(?), Charley, is a drifter on the outskirts of society, haunted by memories from his past: things he has eaten, creeks he has wandered into, crotches he has licked... He has experienced enough of the rough and tumble the world throws at him that he no longer recognizes his demons as a thing of shame. Instead he begins to rely on them as friends, as all the while they morph into seedy creatures of the night known as "squirrels." But things begin to spiral downward for Charley as the squirrels lead him deeper and deeper, farther and farther away from his chew toys... Will Charley wander so far away that he is unable to return to the back yard of his innocent puppyhood? Or will Charley be able to confront these demons (these "squirrels") before it's too late? JUMP like a spaz at the gripping action. FETCH another bowl of popcorn. ROLL around in the grass for no apparant reason. DRINK deep from the water dish that is "Waiting For Squirrels."
Posted by: David R Perry at November 21, 2005 9:49 PMbeautiful review, critic david. but charley is a girl. (which probably leads to her angst as a protagonist.)
Posted by: bananie at November 21, 2005 10:12 PMI'm sorry, as she really is a beautiful woman (why can't I see that?) But even though my gender detection is spotty at best, I do still support the arts.
Posted by: David R Perry at November 21, 2005 11:07 PMlove the photoshop work! I'll see this before Jarhead.
Posted by: flibbityflu at November 22, 2005 12:20 AMI think you need to re-edit the movie down from a NC-17 to a PG-13 rating for a wider audience. Later in your film making career you'll have enough "street cred" to release these unrated films.
Nice job by the way! ;)
Posted by: RichardZ.com at November 22, 2005 8:49 AMThe movie, of course, will be very compelling--life changing, even. I mean, the poster itself is requiring me to change underpants...so you just gotta extrapolate...
Posted by: Keith at November 23, 2005 10:20 AMAhhhh, beautiful doggie. Tonight my cats just don't satisfy. Charley, how I long to pet thee...
Kinda like how I want to nibble on Joaquin Phoenix or have a talk with Charlize about how to get her hair to do that thing in Aeon Flux. You're just another celebrity/moviestar obsession to me, little dog.
