refreshing article for a new year.

more rumination on 2006 and all its newness and root canals are forthcoming, but for now, this article from salon ahs been the bright spot of my day.

[note: if you don't subscribe to salon, you'll have to sit through a little ad before you get the full text. but it's worth it.]

That was a decent article. I haven't seen the show yet but I plan on watching it this Friday to make up my own mind. I have a feeling that although NBC's intent was to make money and not bash Christianity, the writers of the show may have an ulterior motive. Like I said, I haven't watched it and even if I find it blatantly poking fun at Christians I agree with the author of the Salon article --just turn it off. I have to note that NBC had another show, "Committed", that aired an episode that pissed me off (in short it made fun of the Eucharist) and so Gina and I never watched it again. Surprise, it didn't make it past that season. The power of ratings.

They pulled this show in NASHVILLE today. A city I moved to because I thought it would be similar to Boulder as far as diversity and progressive thinking. I feel like I am living in Nazi Germany. I have never experienced being in a place where censorship affects my interests. I am outraged, to say the least. There are some great posts at Tennessean.com protesting this we're-not-really-a-democracy move. My email last week to the TV station in support of the show must have been one of about five because they are taking it OFF THE AIR. I know there are many injustices to be upset about. I'm choosing this one today.
Where the hell AM I?
