saturday night. 8 pm. already in jammies and snuggled up in our brand new bed. one that offers support for achy, stretching hips. holy oh my goodness: joy complete. sparky is kicking me like a wild fetus, and helen is en route with the dogs. it is our first night in the new house. (the cats will come tomorrow.)
i wish i could better express the awe i am experiencing every time i walk into a room. never has anyone lived here. we are this house's story. i'm curled up in the bed in the room where i hope to give birth soon. i wander from pristine room to pristine room and feel the hum of anticipation for what life will be lived here. we have brought our hope here, and are building our family inside these walls. the joy is palpable. everything is new, like morning. like the purple clover blooming just today in our new backyard. and we bless every moment, every square foot.
we welcome ourselves home.
